Navattic Agents: Scrapbook Campaign

Navattic Agents: Scrapbook Campaign

Why we built 20 custom digital scrapbooks for our customers to celebrate the launch of our new Navattic Agents. Plus how to redeem your own scrapbook or sticker pack.

What is this?

An overview of our scrapbook campaign: where we sent digital scrapbooks to select customers to show how their demos have grown over time.

What is a Navattic Agent?

Why did we build scrapbooks?

Navattic Agents is the next evolution for demos, but we didn't want to just say 'Demos now with AI.' Instead we told the story of how demos are 'growing up' by looking back on individual customers' demo journeys. We also wanted to celebrate the customers who helped shape our agents.

Demo & agent timeline

If you're curious about how demos have grown up over the last 5 years, below is the full timeline.

A history of how Navattic started, from our cofounders Neil McLean, Randy Frank, and Chris Hoyle. They walk through the demo frustrations that started the company, how demo software has evolved since, and what excites them about agents. Open a year to read the full chapter.

No try before you buy

Giving prospects access to a proof-of-concept environment was a ton of work. Besides getting them credentials, you had to think about training and enablement and seeding relevant data, all so that they could maybe see a spark of product value.

Randy Frank · Co-founder, Navattic

Six years ago there was no try before you buy. Neil McLean and Randy Frank were SEs at Oracle. Prospects kept asking to get hands-on after a $100K pitch. The answer was usually no. Chris Hoyle was running a design studio and saw the same gap: buyers would try the product, but the engineering cost blocked it. The three of them teamed up and came out of YC W21.

2023

Showing the product on the website became the norm

In the span of three years, it's become common practice for prospects to experience the product early on in the buying cycle.

Neil McLean · Co-founder & CEO, Navattic

In 2020, about 0.2% of websites had an interactive demo. By 2023, only 9% of B2B sites had a Product Tour CTA. Ramp went live on their homepage that year. Then the number moved: 12% in 2024, 18% in 2025.

2025

AEs share a demo without an SE on every call

Customers kept asking, can our AEs use these too? That question is what led us to build Launchpad, so SEs can show up as a strategic partner, not just the person delivering the 101 demo.

Neil McLean · Co-founder & CEO, Navattic

The product started with a sales problem. SEs were stuck delivering the same canned demo on early-stage calls. AEs needed a way to share that demo without coordinating a time for an SE to join.

Neil had lived it as an SE at Oracle. A five-star Analytics Cloud demo he built around Hurricane Harvey claims got so much traction that reps looped him into nearly every working day. "It got to the point where I could recite the talk track in my sleep," he says. Enterprise deals, POCs, and other strategic work got squeezed.

2026

SMB prospects can self-serve a demo without a sales call

We're starting by deploying the Navattic agent for demo requests smaller than our ICP. It gives these prospects a simple, self-guided way to evaluate our product and determine fit, while freeing up our sales team's calendars to focus their time on strike-zone opportunities.

Peyton Walbeck · VP of Marketing, Nectar

Agents are next because they hit the live problems: personalization in real time, coverage in every time zone and language, and demos that keep up as the product ships. Interactive demos solved try before you buy, but they also raised the bar. Buyers now arrive already informed, so they may want something more tailored than a generic product tour.

2027+

Future: Agents take the first conversation

Looking out 1–2 years, we see agents becoming a core part of how we scale GTM for our lower-touch segments, handling more of the first-touch Q&A and personalized product walkthroughs so our sales and SE teams can spend their time on the conversations that really need a human.

Elizabeth Johnstone · Customer Education and Enablement, Productboard

Elizabeth is already using the agent as 24/7 backup for low-touch prospects. Neil sees this future use of agents as part of a bigger GTM shift: the lines between presales, sales, and CS are blurring. "We're seeing signs of a collapse of the GTM function with more forward-deployed engineer roles popping up. I think this is better for the end customer, because the same person who's picking up where an agent left off is the same person helping them implement the new software they've purchased."

Thanks for going through our demo journey

From no way to get hands-on, to a Product Tour CTA on 9% of B2B sites in 2023, to agents that can hold the conversation. We're excited about what is next in the future of try before you buy. To celebrate with us:
